Dylan here and in an interview with MTV, Shyamalan had this to say when asked if there was a "magic number" The Last Airbender had to gross to get a sequel:
"I don't [know], because there are so many factors they take into account. I guess it will get into an area where it becomes a discussion —
like pros and cons. Should we make 'Transformers 8?' — that
kind of conversation. Really, I'm just writing my next thriller, and if I get the call, that would be great."

Dylan here and this week's Question of the Week is this: What Best Non-"Special" Episode is Your Favorite? By special I mean either a finale or part of an episode that was aired with another episode. By "Best" I mean I chose what seemed like the best 9-non special episodes as the choices. The choices are listed in the poll to the right where you can vote on
it. Also leave your opinion in the C-Box above and you can read my
thoughts on the question by hitting “Read more...” |

Dylan here and The Last Airbender has now passed the $200 million mark worldwide after a great weekend internationally. Its worldwide total is now up to $224 million and the movie has now made about $75 million more than its production budget. Depending on how much was spent on marketing (there is no official total), the movie could already be profitable for Paramount.
A couple weeks ago Producer Frank Marshall said he hoped they’d get the go ahead on a sequel by the end of the summer if the movie continued to do well internationally. Well it has, and here we are close to the end of the summer. If Marshall is correct we should see a decision from Paramount on the state of the sequel (for which a script has already been written by M Night) soon.
The Last Airbender opens this week in Mexico, Colombia, and Venezuela after which there will be a few more scattered openings in September and October. |

Dylan here with a new event or feature for Dongbu Feng to try to help get us by these news-less times until Korra’s premier comes closer. Each Tuesday I will post a “Question of the Week.” In the post each Tuesday I’ll leave my thoughts on the question to help get discussion started. From there you can leave your own opinions in the C-Box above and vote on the Question of the Week in the poll to the right. Presumably the following Monday or Tuesday I’ll post a recap of the week’s past Question with the poll results and some notable opinions from the discussion in the C-Box.
This weeks question is one we’ve hit on several times in the podcast before and have also discussed in the C-Box previously: Which season of A:TLA is best? You can read my thoughts by hitting “Read more...” and don’t forget to leave your own opinion in the C-Box and vote in the poll to the right. |
