Looking for high quality screenshots of season 3? Well DF now has them! Jake here, and I'm announcing the launch of DF's DVD screenshot section. They are located in the gallery here. All screenshots are free for all to use, however please credit DongbuFeng.net when linking to them.
Right now we have over 3,500 great DVD shots of episodes 306-310. The beginning of season 3 is coming soon as well.
The question now is, should I do them for previous seasons? Write me at
and let me know if you think I should do DVD screenshots for any other episodes.
In the gallery you can rate screenshots, comment on them, etc. Hope you enjoy the shots!
Jake here, do you want to have your own blog? I have been thinking, why do we have a blog if no one is using it? Yes, if you're usually alert when you visit this site you have probably noticed the "Blogs" link up top. Well right now it doesn't work. But I am going to get those back up IF I get enough interest in people doing blogs.
I'll need at least 4 bloggers or so. You can post general thoughts about Avatar, stuff you recently found, etc. It does all have to be within Dongbu Feng policy (i.e. no discussion of episodes that haven't aired in the US), but you do have a lot of freedom.
So if you juat want to have some fun, send a sample blog post to
. If accepted, you will get blogger privelages on the DF Blogs and you can post whenever you please!
Also - even if you're not alert when viewing the site, you've probably noticed a new banner and background. I did not make these (my photoshop skills have yet to be brought up to the 21st century). Anyway, Krys Yuy, a listener to the podcast who wrote in wanting to help out, sent in these images and it impressed me so much I decided to upload them! Thanks to her, the site now does not look completely boring and makes you want to browse it, which is good!
Jake here. On this day 3 years ago, Avatar first premiered on Nickelodeon. Many of us did not know at the time we would fall in love with this series, and what a phenomenon it would become! So on this 3-year anniversary we honor co-creators Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, head writer Aaron Ehasz, staff writers John O'Bryan, Tim Hedrick, Elizabeth Ehasz and Josh Hamilton, directors Giancarlo Volpe, Ethan Spaulding and Joaquim Dos Santos and all the rest of the Avatar staff who made this show the creme of the crop in the animation world. Thank you from all the Avatar Fandom!
Jake here, giving you an update on the Donation Drive thus far. So far, we've had a number of donors who have raised well-over the $30 to pay for the gift card. I would like to again ask you to, if you have some spare cash, to donate even as little as $5. If we can get at least 5 more people to donate I will have a second drawing for another gift card (whoever wins the $30 card will not be eligible for this, however) which will be at least $15. You donate $5, you can get at least $15 back, or as much as $30, all of which you can spend on whatever you wish at the huge shop at Amazon.com.
Also I'd like to take this time to thank everyone who has donated already. I really appreciate it and all of you are in the drawing so far (there have been 7 so far, click the link to the right to see all). You guys are already in the drawing and I appreciate your generosity.
On the screenshot front, I have found a tutorial on how to automatically cap screenshots of DVDs with VLC Player (thanks dave e. who emailed it in). If you'd like to know how as well, send me an email to
However, for some odd reason the images are not showing up. I can see they are there in VLC, but they are not showing up in Windows and I can't copy/paste to another folder. If you know how to solve this problem, I would very much appreciate an email. :) Thanks!
Dylan here and on Wednesday, there will be a Total Luncar Eclipse! We need to invade!!! Prepare the forces!!! ..No, there's not a point to this, carry on.
Jake here. Some of you may know I once had a gallery on here. At one time I had screenshots for a couple episodes from former admin pianist. And I kept wallpapers, did a few character galleries, etc.
Anyway, the gallery is still on the server and I've been wanting to put it to good use. My idea is to do DVD screenshots. Yes I realize ASN has them. So what? The more screenshots the merrier, am I right? Anyway I have my Book 3, Volume 2 DVD just sitting here and, well, I'd like to try to cap those episodes since no one has high-quality screenshots of those episodes.
What I need from you guys is for someone to "teach" me how to take automatic screenshots. I've seen on LiveJournal before how to take automatic screenshots with VLC, but I can't seem to find it. And Google fails me just as well.
Basically what I want to do here is insert the DVD into my laptop, and run a program that will automatically take screenshots of an episode and store them in a folder. So while I watch I can not have to worry about hitting "Screenshot" every time on my media player.
If there is a way to do this with VLC, Windows MP, Quicktime, or some other media player, please let me know. Send an email to
with some instructions for a "newbie" to screenshot-ing.
If I can figure this out maybe I'l do previous seasons. Yes its a bit late in the series but hey if people will use them, and I can produce them quickly, I'll give it a shot.
Jake here. I've been reading some forums and listening to some in DF chat and I have to say it's amazing how people are doubting the title of episode 317 that was released last night.
It is The Ember Island Players. This is no scam, no fake episode title. To deny 317's title is to deny the already-confirmed-on-TV titles of 301-313. Just because it sounds fake doesn't mean it is. "The Painted Lady" sounded very fake to me, but look, it was an episode title.
So just stop saying this is fake. Also, this will likely be the last title for a while. There are 4 titles left, but they are the titles of the 4 finale episodes. I won't get them for a while, so you won't get them for a while. They will likely be very spoilerish and I won't be getting them for awhile. So please don't ask about those titles.
