Dylan along with Jake, Alisa, Josh, and Michelle first discuss the recent early release of the Sozin's Comet book in the news segment and then go way in-depth into "The Western Air Temple."...see more
Jake here, introducing the new Dongbu Feng Blogs! Click here or click the "Blogs" button on the top navigation panel. Over the next 5 days we'll be rolling out our cast of 7 bloggers. If you applied but didn't receive a response, thank you for your sample, but we can only have a certain number of bloggers, and we received a lot of submissions. If someone can't blog anymore, we'll keep your blog on file as a possible replacement!
Also, there appears to be an issue with Kids Choice Awards voting. The category Avatar is in, Favorite Cartoon, is not showing up, but it was yesterday. We're hoping to get to the bottom of this, so don't panic. Could be they change the categories each day, or it could be something else. We'll see. But when it gets back up, make sure to vote!
The Dongbu Feng Donation Drivve continues for another 6 days. It will conclude next Saturday at 11:59 pm EST. After that there will be a drawing on that Monday, March 10th to determine the winner of the $30 Amazon.com gift card!
As I said in a previous update, I'll add a $15 gift card as a second drawing, but I need 4 more people to donate for that. If you want to donate but may not be able to make the deadline, contact me via email. We may be able to make a special arrangment.
Thanks to all who have been generous and donated thus far! I appreciate your contributions. : D
Jake here. Cabletvtalk.com has released the March Nick highlights. Present are a few cartoon premieres and the premiere of a rip-off-like-of-Avatar (OOOHHH WE CAN MANIPULATE WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111) live action series. Absent is our beloved Avatar.
Don't fret. Estimates made by Alisa, a member of our chat and podcast, shows a very possible situation where the show could return March 28th, based on the release date of the Sozin's Comet book, being released on May 20th. We could get a press release announcing the rest of the season, like we did the beginning of season (I think).
Keep in mind it's all speculation at this point. I'm trying to get the date but there are complications (i.e. not all the staff is currently at Nick). But whether it comes through press release or my contact, DF will be sure to bring it to you.
Also, throughout March look for some tidbits here. I have no idea when the last titles will come in nor do I care, I'd like the finale to be as surprising as possible. Besides, I may have to abide by a don't-release-just-yet rule like I did with 306. =\
Dylan here. The 33rd "From the Spirit World" Podcast is up! We go in-depth into Aang's upcoming decision in the finale. We also discuss other aspects of the finale and reveal information about it including the writers! If you're going to listen to one podcast, this is it. You can listen on iTunes or in the podcast page.
Looking for high quality screenshots of season 3? Well DF now has them! Jake here, and I'm announcing the launch of DF's DVD screenshot section. They are located in the gallery here. All screenshots are free for all to use, however please credit DongbuFeng.net when linking to them.
Right now we have over 3,500 great DVD shots of episodes 306-310. The beginning of season 3 is coming soon as well.
The question now is, should I do them for previous seasons? Write me at
and let me know if you think I should do DVD screenshots for any other episodes.
In the gallery you can rate screenshots, comment on them, etc. Hope you enjoy the shots!
Jake here, do you want to have your own blog? I have been thinking, why do we have a blog if no one is using it? Yes, if you're usually alert when you visit this site you have probably noticed the "Blogs" link up top. Well right now it doesn't work. But I am going to get those back up IF I get enough interest in people doing blogs.
I'll need at least 4 bloggers or so. You can post general thoughts about Avatar, stuff you recently found, etc. It does all have to be within Dongbu Feng policy (i.e. no discussion of episodes that haven't aired in the US), but you do have a lot of freedom.
So if you juat want to have some fun, send a sample blog post to
. If accepted, you will get blogger privelages on the DF Blogs and you can post whenever you please!
Also - even if you're not alert when viewing the site, you've probably noticed a new banner and background. I did not make these (my photoshop skills have yet to be brought up to the 21st century). Anyway, Krys Yuy, a listener to the podcast who wrote in wanting to help out, sent in these images and it impressed me so much I decided to upload them! Thanks to her, the site now does not look completely boring and makes you want to browse it, which is good!
Jake here. On this day 3 years ago, Avatar first premiered on Nickelodeon. Many of us did not know at the time we would fall in love with this series, and what a phenomenon it would become! So on this 3-year anniversary we honor co-creators Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, head writer Aaron Ehasz, staff writers John O'Bryan, Tim Hedrick, Elizabeth Ehasz and Josh Hamilton, directors Giancarlo Volpe, Ethan Spaulding and Joaquim Dos Santos and all the rest of the Avatar staff who made this show the creme of the crop in the animation world. Thank you from all the Avatar Fandom!
Jake here, giving you an update on the Donation Drive thus far. So far, we've had a number of donors who have raised well-over the $30 to pay for the gift card. I would like to again ask you to, if you have some spare cash, to donate even as little as $5. If we can get at least 5 more people to donate I will have a second drawing for another gift card (whoever wins the $30 card will not be eligible for this, however) which will be at least $15. You donate $5, you can get at least $15 back, or as much as $30, all of which you can spend on whatever you wish at the huge shop at Amazon.com.
Also I'd like to take this time to thank everyone who has donated already. I really appreciate it and all of you are in the drawing so far (there have been 7 so far, click the link to the right to see all). You guys are already in the drawing and I appreciate your generosity.
On the screenshot front, I have found a tutorial on how to automatically cap screenshots of DVDs with VLC Player (thanks dave e. who emailed it in). If you'd like to know how as well, send me an email to
However, for some odd reason the images are not showing up. I can see they are there in VLC, but they are not showing up in Windows and I can't copy/paste to another folder. If you know how to solve this problem, I would very much appreciate an email. :) Thanks!
Dylan here and on Wednesday, there will be a Total Luncar Eclipse! We need to invade!!! Prepare the forces!!! ..No, there's not a point to this, carry on.
