Help the victims of Hurricane Katrina! PDF Print E-mail
We've all heard the stories, seen the pictures.  Now it's time to do something!  Below check out a few links of places you can go to help out the victims of Hurricane Katrina.  You've probably already seen these 1,000 times, but here's just a reminder:

Avatar Season 1 DVDs hit stores January '06 PDF Print E-mail
According to a Nickelodeon employee who works on the show, Avatar season 1 will be coming to DVD in January 2006.  And TVshowsonDVD.com has confirmed this.  Also, there will be a box-set released later on with bonus features, but no announcement will be made to the fans of this happening.  So the same product will go on sale twice, except the latter one will have bonus features.  Unless you are really desperate to own the Avatar DVD, hold on until the box set with bonus features comes out.  And when a date is announced for the release of this product, DF readers will be the first to know!

If you're wondering where we got this info, it came from a TV.com thread.  All of us admins (pooldude256, Starlilica, FlyingMomo, ISpeakTheTruth, pianist0521992, and -Ngo-rongo-ro) are all registered on tv.com under those use ames.  If you want to make us friends or PM us there, that's fine, just be nice :-) .  But realize we will be more active here in the future.

Cashin' In: LEGO Acquires Rights to Nickelodeon Properties PDF Print E-mail
Recently, LEGO has acquired rights to all Nickelodeon properties, including Nick, Nick Jr., and Nickelodeon Movies.  And by August 2006, LEGO is releasing several sets to stores everywhere.  Want more info?  Read on.

Recently, LEGO has acquired rights to all Nickelodeon properties, including Nick, Nick Jr., and Nickelodeon Movies.  And by August 2006, LEGO is releasing several sets to stores everywhere.

So why am I telling you this, you ask?  Well, to start off, LEGO is releasing two sets of Avatar: The Last Airbender and three sets of Spongebob Squarepants.  In addition, in April, LEGO will introduce Batman LEGOs, releasing six sets of the brand.  The sets for Batman will all be based off of the following members of the Batman family: Batman Begins, the theatrical movie, The Batman animated TV series, and the Batman comic book.

Anywho, here's more information on the Avatar line.  But so I don't get sued, please click once on the links below, to give credit to the original storybreakers.  Thank you. :-)

"LEGO’s Avatar line will offer two hero models with collectible mini-figures and role-play action to recreate popular environs of the animated series. Both lines will be available in August 2006."

The two Avatar series' will include mini-figures.  Seriously, this is something I will buy.  Personally, I love LEGOs and the opportunity to own Aang, Zuko (and burn his figure, of course ... two minutes later, "I'm sorry, I was just kidding!  No, fangirls, not the hair!), and all the rest of the gang.

It looks like Nick is going all out here for Avatar, and I highly doubt the cancellation of this series anytime soon.

Also during the month of November, new episodes of Jimmy Neutron, Catscratch, Danny Phantom, and Spongebob, including a special "Where's Gary?".  In addition, TEENick will premiere new episodes of Unfabulous, Ned's Declassified, and Zoey 101.  Check out CableTVTalk for descriptions of these episodes.

On Nicksgiving Weekend, the network will premiere The X's, a new show from Carlos Ramos (Teenage Robot) about a family of spies.  CableTVTalk also has descriptions of those episodes, which will begin Friday, November 25th at 8 pm.  Nick.com has a page for the newest Nicktoon here.  It possibly could be a show worth watching.

Also, for those of you Digital Cable subscribers, the Nicktoons network, which is a 24/7 channel showing cartoons all day and all night, both Nickelodeon shows past and present, and other shows like Martin Mystery and My Dad the Rockstar.  Currently Avatar is not on the network.  Anywho, this network will show an hour-long sneak peak to its first original series, Skyland.

From Yahoo! News:

Skyland, produced by Method Films and created by Emmanuel Gorin, Alexandre de la Patelliere and Matthieu Delaporte, is a sci-fi action adventure series that follows a heroic young brother and sister team searching for their parents in a . In the year 2251, the earth shattered into millions of blocks that now float in orbit around the earth's core, but these blocks remained suitable for living, and life continued on them. Soon, children with telekinetic powers--the Seijin--appeared. The earth's dictatorship, known as The Sphere, raised these children to enforce their power. A resistance movement of Pirates formed, but disbanded after their leader Marcus Farrell disappears. Skyland's young heroes Mahad and Lena find themselves unlikely members of the gang of Pirate rebels after their mother is kidnapped and imprisoned. They begin a journey to free their mother, fight the control of the Sphere and unravel the mystery of their father, Marcus Farrell.

The sneak will take place on Friday, November 25th at 8pm, with an encore at 11pm, for those who watched The X's over the sneak.

Wow, the Avatar brand is getting a lot of attention: DVDs, T-shirts, Video game, trading card game, Lego brand, and now a roller coaster.  Check out that Nickdisk link for more on the other new additions, and I will continue to report any information I hear about Avatar!  Peace.
