Appa's Lost Days (216) |
EW Ehasz |
What, not 111 here? This episode is the only episode of Avatar I can call boring. that’s why it nabs the bottom spot.

The Great Divide (111)

Really, really, bad. But I’ve found that I can watch it easier than 216.

Moderately funny, not a good plot.
|

Has PMS Katara. It’s really just an ok episode overall.
|
54
|
The King of Omashu (105) |
O'Bryan |
Bumi is great, the rest of this episode isn’t.
|
53
|
Tales of Ba Sing Se (215) |

Has it’s moments, overall not enough going on.
|
52
|
Imprisoned (106) |
Hubbard |
Good character development for Katara, but not a memorable episode.
|

|
Avatar Day (205) |

|
An underrated episode, Iroh’s speech in it is amazing.

|
The Northern Air Temple (117) |
EW Ehasz |
This episode never worked for me. I don’t know why, I just never really liked it.
|
49
|
The Firebending Masters (313) |
O'Bryan |
Good adventure episode, not enough plot or character development.
|
| 48 |
The Western Air Temple (312) |
EW Ehasz/Hedrick |
The episode doesn’t feel right. Why am I not liking Aang, Katara, and Sokka?
|
| 47 |
The Desert (211) |
Hedrick |
Has a great scene with Katara calming Aang down from the Avatar State, but not much else.
|
| 46 |
The Library (210) |
O'Bryan |
Good episode, not memorable.
|
| 45 |
The Drill (213) |
DiMartino/Konietzko |
Great fight scene. Not enough anything but action for me.
|
| 44 |
The Serpent's Pass (212) |
DiMartino/Hamilton |
Great animation. Good episode, has its parts, but doesn’t come together for me as an elite episode.
|
| 43 |
The Waterbending Scroll (109) |
O'Bryan |
Pirates. Good character development for Katara, but just still an ok episode.
|
| 42 |
The Beach (305) |
Mattila |
Combustion Man is amazing. The Beach has it’s moments.
|
| 41 |
The Avatar Returns (102) |
DiMartino/Konietzko |
It’s too low of my list, the second episode of the series is just hard to rate.
|
| 40 |
The Ember Island Players (317) |
Many |
While it may have the best line in the entire series, “*Sonic Scream* There, I got a pretty good look at you.” the episode all together just never worked for me. Still hilarious though.
|
| 39 |
The Southern Raiders (316) |
EW Ehasz |
A rushed episode, but still a great plot with Ninja Zuko and Katara. Also, the blood bending plot is brought to a close.
|
| 38 |
Sokka's Master (304) |
Hedrick |
Good episode, Piando and Sokka make a great combo.
|
| 37 |
Nightmares and Daydreams (309) |
O'Bryan |
Too hilarious. Rated lower for the lack of plot.
|
| 36 |
The Earth King (218) |
O'Bryan |
This episode never worked for me as much as it did for a lot of other people. The animation is way off, and the intro is too much. But an amazing end to it.
|
| 35 |
The Avatar and the Firelord (306) |
EW Ehasz |
Roku’s past makes a great almost stand alone episode.
|
| 34 |
Return to Omashu (203) |
EW Ehasz |
The introduction of Mai and Ty Lee is great.
|
| 33 |
Bato of the Water Tribe (115) |
Wilcox |
Great scene at the end of the episode, plus June is a great character.
|
| 32 |
The Chase (308) |
Hamilton |
Great scene at the end with Zuko, Aang, Katara, Toph, and Iroh all attacking at once.
|
| 31 |
The Southern Air Temple (103) |
DiMartino |
Great episode, probably underrated. Lots of Aangst.
|
| 30 |
The Spirit World (107) |
Ehasz |
My first episode, the Aang reassuring Katara as he is in the spirit world is one of my favorite scenes in the show.
|
| 29 |
Avatar Roku (108) |
DiMartino |
Zhao, Zuko, Roku, and Aang all in the same temple. Just too awesome.
|
| 28 |
The Boiling Rock, Part 2 (315)
|
Hamilton
|
This episode can stand alone on the Mai and Ty Lee betrayal scene.
|
| 27 |
The Boiling Rock, Part 1 (314) |
Chan |
Love Avatar taking on a traditional plot line, escaping from a prison. And it’s made very well.
|
| 26 |
The Swamp (204) |
Hedrick |
An underrated episode, and I probably put it too low.
|
| 25 |
The Deserter (116) |
Hedrick |
Great aangsty episode, Jeong Jeong is a welcome new character.
|
| 24 |
The Blue Spirit (113) |
Konietzko |
Great action, not enough story. But the Zuko and Aang interaction is incredible.
|
| 23 |
Day of Black Sun Part 1: The Invasion (310) |
DiMartino |
2 words: Kataang Kiss. Also, Haru has a mustache.
|
| 22 |
The Guru (219) |
DiMartino/Konietzko |
Metalbending and chakras. Great lead-in into 220.
|
| 21 |
Zuko Alone (207) |
EW Ehasz |
Amazing episode. Would be higher, but the Fire Nation side of the story is my less favorite of the two.
|
| 20 |
Sozin's Comet, Part 1: The Phoenix King (318) |
DiMartino |
Melon Lord! A perfect start for the finale, this episode wasn’t mean to be epic. But it lacked the something special that the non-epic episodes I have higher do.
|
| 19 |
Bitter Work (209) |
Ehasz |
Bitter Work is another greatly produced episode. And the plot isn’t too shabby either.
|
| 18 |
Day of Black Sun Part 2: The Eclipse (311) |
Ehasz |
What a scene in Zuko redirecting to Ozai. The Azula fight was amazing too. Maybe with a stronger lead-in this would have been better.
|
| 17 |
The Waterbending Masters (118) |
O'Bryan |
This episode has a lot of great scenes: The Zuko B plot and the Sokka and Yue scenes. In some ways this episode seems rushed, and in others it doesn’t. A great lead in into the finale.
|
| 16 |
Sozin's Comet, Part 2: The Old Masters (3189
|
Ehasz |
The Lion Turtle and Jun, the real 2nd mystery episode of the series. Great quality, great plot.
|
| 15 |
Lake Laogai (217) |
Hedrick |
It’s Lake Laogai. Jet, Long Feng, the Dai Li. I wouldn’t allow this episode to go any lower, it’s probably higher on most people’s lists.
|
| 14 |
The Warriors of Kyoshi Island (104) |
Malis |
This episode is severely underrated. There really isn’t much great about this episode production wise: the animation isn’t the best, and the voice acting is off at times, but on the plus side the music is great. And what really makes this episode is the writing. Nick Malis writes one of the most quality episodes of the series, and it’s only the 4th of the entire show. Sokka develops more in this episode than in any other, and the Aang and Katara dialogue is at its best in this episode. It may even be the best character to character dialogue of the entire series.
|
| 13 |
The Blind Bandit (206) |
DiMartino |
This episode could stand alone from the others, it’s kinda in its own little word. The Aang and Toph dialogue scenes are what puts this one so high on my list.
|
| 12 |
The Puppetmaster (308) |
Hedrick |
A mystery episode of Avatar and I loved it! This is one of the best produced episode of the series, the animation is incredible, I still have one of the backgrounds from the episode as my desktop.
|
| 11 |
The Storm (112) |
Ehasz |
“Food eats people!” This episode is powerful. It’s a tough episode to place, I could have put it even higher. One of my friends says it’s her favorite episode, others say it’s just average. I’d say it’s one of the elite episodes, but not quite all the way up there.
|
| 10 |
The Seige of the North, Part 1 (119) |
O'Bryan |
“Wooh, yeah, good times, good times.” “You rise with the moon, I rise with the sun.” ‘Nuff said.
|
| 9 |
The Crossroads of Destiny (220) |
Ehasz |
Not my favorite episode, but I can’t ignore it’s epicness. Plus, the last scene of iranks in my top 5 of the series.
|
| 8 |
The Boy in the Icebetg (101) |
DiMartino/Konietzko |
Kick started the series. People tend to forget how good the 1st episode actually was. Gotta love “Why are you smiling at me like that?”
|
| 7 |
The Fortuneteller |
Aaron Ehasz
|
Such a quirky episode. I actually can’t believe that it’s #7 on my list. I jsut love it so much though. C’mon, “floozy!” |
| 6 |
The City of Walls and Secrets (214) |
Hedrick |
Want to show a friend an episode of Avatar to get them hooked? This is the one. It’s a dark episode, yet still funny, epic with the Jet v Zuko fight, and has got some romance in there (“Wow, you look beautiful!”). Most well-rounded episode of the series.
|
| 5 |
The Headband (302) |
O'Bryan |
My 2nd favorite episode only to Cave of Two Lovers. The humor and Kataang in this episode are great.
|
| 4 |
The Siege of the North, Pt. 2 (120) |
Ehasz |
Epic, epic, epic, epic, epic! Koizilla, Katara v Zuko part 2, the Spirit World including Koh! I could have had this episode as #2, but I like it here.
|
| 3 |
The Cave of Two Lovers (202) |
Hamilton |
This was my number 1 episode until the finale aired. I just love every minute of this episode. It lacks plot depth, but the humor and kataang are amazing. It’s #3 on my top episodes list, but it’s my #1 favorite.
|
| 2 |
Sozin's Comet, Pt. 3: Into the Inferno (320) |
DiMartino/Konietzko |
Why not #1 you ask? Well, to me, the conclusion of the Aang and Ozai fight, the conclusion of the Toph, Sokka, and Suki fight, and the “epilogue” add up more than the conclusion of the Zuko and Azula fight with them middle of the other fights.
|
| 1 |
Sozin's Comet, Pt. 4: Avatar Aang(321) |
DiMartino/Konietzko |
This is the way to send the series out. Don’t think I need to explain this too far, epic, epic episode. And the perfect ending.
