Jake here. It appears as though M. Night Shyamalan is finally ready to shoot "The Last Airbender."
Over two years after the project was initially announced by Paramount, Shyamalan and his cast are ready to begin filming in Greenland. According to this article - which also contains the first image of the movie (or what we suspect is from the movie) we have seen - filming will begin one week from today, on March 23, and last until April 3rd. In those 11 days, they will film approximately six minutes of the film.
We can only speculate if this estimate is right, but if it is, hopefully it is just the Southern Water Tribe scenes, and not the scenes at the end in the Northern Water Tribe.
Also the article states scenes have already been filmed in Vietnam. This is the first we are hearing of this, though, and their information could be accurate or forward-looking. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
You can most likely look for a trailer or some other sort of teaser this summer in June or July, though that's just a guesstimate. Things are certainly progressing though, which is a good sign.
