Sokka is manly tough, or at least he tries to be. He and his sister, Katara, both found Aang in the iceberg, and now all three are journeying throughout the lands. He wants to be a warrior. His father gave him a boomerang, and that is his main weapon. Sokka can be a bit genderous, saying guys are stronger than gals, and women should just cook and clean. This causes Katara to get enraged. On Kyoshi Island, he got attacked and captured by "a bunch of gir ls," which made Sokka angry. There, he got his first kiss, from Suki. However, only on the cheek. Another crush Sokka has had was on Princess Yue, and she actually kissed him on the lips, signaling Sokka finally gaining his manhood.
Sokka usually tries to fight in a situation, and always has his boomerang ready, on a sling on his back. He feels he is the leader of a group, and trusts his instincts, at the end of things, he usually learns his lesson. One of Sokka’s favorite things is food. He always thinks about it, and always wants to eat it. He jokingly almost killed an winged lemur for food! Sokka is also sarcastic, and humorous. Without Sokka’s unique brand of comedic relief, Avatar: The Last Airbender would not be the same! Sokka is not a Waterbender, even though he is from the Water Tribe. He thinks bending is what started this war. Sometimes he gets jealous, like when Aang flies. In the Southern Air Temple, Aang and Sokka have a race to get Momo, but Aang wins because of his airbending abilities. The main thing is, Sokka is always there when his friends and family needs help, and Appa is always there when Sokka falls off, skydiving head-first in to an ocean.
In the second season, Sokka has several times been seen with his hair unbraided and wearing no shirt. One time, as a matter of fact, he was even seen in his underwear. One of the Nomads, Chong, even complimented him on his undergarments.
