Would you like to know what old men argue about in the Avatar world? Well, how to use the YuuYan archers, of course.
If you recall, in the beginning of The Blue Spirit, our friend, Commander, or should I say Admiral, Zhao, and apparently his high school chum, Colonel Shinu, were arguing over how the YuuYan archers, a very gifted and elite group of archers, should be used. Zhao wanted to put them out in the field to capture the Avatar, but Shinu wanted to keep them at the fire nation's main command center in the Earth Kingdom (a scenic view) as "mere security guards." But as the story goes, Zhao eventually got his wish.
It is not known if the archers were forced to work here, or if they are just a part of the fire nation, but my money's on the latter.
This group of men (so it appears) appear to be used exclusively by the fire nation. As Zhao described it, "the YuuYan can pin a fly to a tree from 100 yards away without it." Pretty impressive I'd say. The archers provide just another example of the group of people who live in the Avatar world. There are many different groups with many different purposes or speciliaties. For the YuuYan, that's an arrow at a target. And for the herbalist lady, that's making remedies and healing wounded soldiers.
