Earth Elemental Creatures are classified creatures who are associated with the Earth Kingdom citizens, or any land creature that is not associated with another nation. Ostrich Dragon: Looking nothing like an ostrich and only somewhat like a wingless "wyve ," the ostrich dragon is nothing more than a Phorusrhacoid (see link for information; in short Phorusrhacoids are extinct, tall, flightless raptor-birds) with an exceptionally vicious beak. They have long, powerful legs that help carry weight and travel long distances. They are domesticated for the use of the Earth Kingdom people, specifically the military and mail service.

Flopsie: King Bumi of Omashu's special "pet," Flopsie is a unique and unknown beast; its body and arms are of a gorilla, its face is lion-like or pit-bull-like, it has the legs, hooves and ho s of a goat, floppy (hence the name) rabbits' ears, the tongue of a dog, and is snow white all over. Truly a fantastic looking creature, it indeed has a temper but is in the end quite the pushover and a loving companion.
Reptile-Parrot (left): This part lizard, part parrot has a green body with feathers growing out of the arms and tail. Said arms are like Momo's in a way, as they are wings when needed but fold down into climbing arms. It has a red "plate" that comes down s, they have become great climbers.from the neck to mid-back with seven small yellow feathers extending from the neck, and a blue head and yellow-white beak. This bird actually looks quite a lot like a green hoatzin (see link) and is owned by the Pirate Captain.
Hog-Monkey (right): These large primates have brownish-maroon fur, with a black "mask," beady red eyes, a long tail, a classic hog nose, and impressive tusks in their lower jaws. Thankfully they only eat fruit (though are eaten by some villagers), and sound quite a lot like howler monkeys. They are the most common creature of Earth kingdom forests, and exceptionally large ones are used for "joy-rides" by reckless youths.
Canyon Crawler: Found at least in the Great Divide, these massive arthropods have four long legs with two large pronounced claws. They have long brown furry bodies, eight eyes on each side of the head, a long mouth with rows of sharp teeth, and a forked tongue. They nostrils look like funnels at the end of their snouts, and their sense of smell is incredible. Adapted to the canyon feature
Wood Frog: These frogs are found frozen on the bottom of valley swamps during the winter. Their skin emits a chemical that is used to cure illnesses - if the person sucks on them while frozen, it will cure most flu- and cold-like diseases. Thawed, they are no different from any brown wood frog found in the real world.
Xirxiu: Lovingly and accurately described by fans of ATLA as the "wolf-anteater-mole," a Xirxiu (aka Shirshu) is a massive (six to seven feet at the shoulder) brown anteater with a black back, the eyeless head of a wolf, the pink nose of a star-nosed mole, and strange flapped vents along its snout. It has a long (going on twenty feet) whip-like barbed tongue that injects a potent paralyzing agent into prey. They see with their nose using scent, and make do extremely well. The bounty hunter Jun barely manages to utilize one as her steed. It has been theorized that they are not animals as much as s, and were described as such once by animators.
Platypus-Bear: Another fantastic creature of the Earth Kingdom, the platypus-bear is a grizzly bear-sized sun bear that is brown rather than black, but still has the white crescent chest mark. Its forepaws are appropriately sloth-like, but with four claws rather than two or three. The feet, head and tail are those of a platypus, and the beak is lined with small teeth for catching fish. They lay eggs, which are eaten, and are the bane of travelers along the Earth Kingdom's rivers and streams. In addition, the platypus-bear was originally inserted into the show as a prank based on a practical joke between the crew.
Turkey-Goose: The only completely tame and domesticate animal so far in Avatar: The Last Airbender, a turkey-goose looks as it is named. Specifically, it is the size of a goose, with a goose's bill, feet, and color (white). It has a turkey's fleshy face and wattle, feathers that are heavily ruffled in the manner of a turkey, and a miniaturized version of a turkey's tail (still in white). They make strange, almost mechanical-sounding "gurgles" as vocalizations. Turkey-geese are extremely intelligent and curious, and therefore land themselves in constant mischief.
Wolf-Bat: Man-sized bats with half-wolf, half-bat faces, wolf-bats are extremely aggressive and despise the fire used by cave travelers. Their dangerousness is increased in that they roost crouched on the ground, rather than hanging by the cave ceiling, and are easy to disturb. They are completely capable of flight but it appears that they prefer running. They have only been seen in the Cave of Two Lovers (Episode 22), which raises questions: since the crystals illuminated the Lovers' tunnels, and the wolf-bats still lived along the main tunnels, why would they respond so violently to a flame's light when they live in constant illumination nonetheless? It is also odd in that the Traveling Minstrels did not recognize wolf-bats, which inhabit their home turf, while foreigner Sokka instantly identified them. Wolf-bats also despise the badger moles, if only because of the badger moles' territorial natures.
Badger Mole: After the war between their villages kept the Two Lovers Oma and Shu from each other, they learned how to meet inside the dividing mountain by observing the badger moles. The art they mastered became Earthbending. The badger moles still live in the Two Lover's mountain, though it is unknown (and doubtful) that they inhabit elsewhere. The badger moles are great humpbacked beasts, larger than even Appa, with rich brown coats, mole's fore claws, and a head that it is intermediate between a badger's and a mole's. Their tails are long, pale white and flattened on the sides. Though capable of physical labor with their claws and muscles, most of their digging is with rudimentary (but effective) Earthbending stances. Badger moles are alarmingly territorial, raising questions as to how Oma and Shu ever got close enough to lea anything, and are the bane of the wolf-bats. They are also a classic case of music soothing the savage beast, as an impromptu turns on by Sokka and the Traveling Minstrels saved them from being to limb from limb, and even got them a free ride out of the Cave of Two Lovers.
