Young Smellerbee is yet another mystery from Jet's gang of Freedom Fighters. Nothing about his past or how he became a member was revealed at all. Smellerbee has a bit of a pushy attitude towards others. However, he appears loyal to Jet, like all the other members of his group. At times Smellerbee can be reckless, but just consider the fact that he is still a child involved in what could be seen as "grown-up" issues, so he just needs to entertain himself every once in a while.
Smellerbee was revealed be a in season 2. Quite funny story actually. Iroh said "So, Smellerbee, that's an unusual name for a young man." To that she responded "Maybe it's because I'm not a man. I'm a !". That was widely speculated upon before, but now we know for sure!
Smellerbee was wary of Jet and his attempts to expose Iroh and Zuko as firebenders. She didn't think it was the right idea. And she was right.
In "Lake Laogai", Smelerbee and Longshot ended their part of the episode at the side of a dying Jet. Smellerbee was openly weeping, while Longshot was making sure he'd be ready if Long Feng or another Dai Li agent came back. It is currently unknown if and how they escaped from underneath Lake Laogai. They could have followed Zuko and Iroh out. Or they could have stayed and been captured by the Dai Li.
