Did you know there are Hippies in the Avatar world? Well, now you do! Chong is the leader of this group of “Nomads” as they call themselves.

Chong is a little slow. Like in the cave, Sokka is asking if anybody has any ideas for how to get out of the cave, but Chong says, “Wait a minute, we're thinking of ideas? 'Cause I've had an idea for about an hour now.”  And before when Sokka and Katara are talking about going to Omashu, and Sokka says out-right, “O-MA-SHU!” and, after Katara says something about Aang needing to lea Earthbending somewhere safe, Chong says, “Sounds like your headed to Omashu.”

He has some major memory problems, though, but has mad skills on the banjo. He’s also not a bad singer either. His wife is Lily, who is about as smart as he is, which isn’t saying much. Chong’s got style and is a very relaxed guy. He and his gang of Hippies, I mean Nomads, have been all over the Earth Kingdom, and those places they haven’t been, they’ve heard stories of.

Chong travels the world with his wife, an overweight man named Moku and one other woman and one other man.

In his memory bank are many songs; however, he doesn’t exactly know all the words to all the songs. He often improvises as well. In general, Chong is a fun-loving guy who enjoys taking life as it comes.
