March 19th, 2007 - In an interview with Sci-Fi.com, Avatar Co-Creators Bryan Konietzko and Mike DiMartino publicly praise the idea of the live action film and M. Night Shyamalan as well.

"The movie is in the earliest stages, so it is too soon to comment on exactly what we will be doing. However, Mike and I have met with Night and, on top of really admiring his craft, he is a great guy who really respects the material. It means a lot to us that he personally chose to do this project, and we look forward to helping him in any way."
- Co-Creator Bryan Konietzko

March 6th, 2007 - ISEB.net reports M. Night Shyamalan has begun writing the script for the first 'Avatar' live action film!

ImageJanuary 8th, 2007 - Paramount Pictures announced they had agreed to terms with famed director M. Night Shyamalan on a deal which could encompass up to a three-movie franchise based on Nickelodeon's animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. The movies would all be live action, as Nick devles into new mediums for expanding their shows' span across the globe. No doubt the live action concept is supposed to appeal to those who don't watch Avatar "because it's a cartoon."

Since the movie is only in the early developmental stages, there is little information available. Who will be cast, when the movie will take place, if and how the Avatar staff and co-creators will be involved, etc. is all unknown. More is likely to come about these films in the coming months. Stay tuned to this page for updates on the movie!

Dongbu Feng will also offer in-depth coverage of the movie(s). At this time there are no real plans to create a guide in the TV.com episode guide for the movies, so this site will serve primarily as our area of concentration for info on the films.
