Dylan along with Jake, Alisa, Josh, and Michelle first discuss the recent early release of the Sozin's Comet book in the news segment and then go way in-depth into "The Western Air Temple."...see more
Last round Princess Yue was crowned "Favorite Guest Characters (Two or More Episodes" and her old home the Northern Water Tribe was crowned "Favorite City" by you the Avatar fans!
The next round of voting has begun. This week, "Favorite Action/Adventure Episode" and "Favorite Element" are up for voting!
Though still in the early stages, Dongbu Feng is proud to reveal our Avatar merchandise store. We'll now offer a place on this site where you can find anything Avatar-related which has been released or will be in the near future. Browse through the items and purchase them through the links we have provided! We've partnered with Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com to give you the lowest prices available of the items!
Currently we only have DVDs, the Mattel action figures and the episodes (a place where you can buy individual episodes) in our listing. Games, including the video game and trading card game, clothing, and more are on their way soon! If you find a product you feel we should list here, please email
with a link to the item!
Featured items this week are the three which were just released: Book 2, Volume 1 DVD, The Lost Scrolls: Earth and The Lost Scrolls: Air. The Book 2, Volume 1 DVD has Audio Commentaries of the first 5 episodes (or at least some of them) and is only $9.99 through our Amazon.com link! This is one way you can indirectly support the site. You are paying Amazon.com, but they are in turn giving the site a share and as I mentioned before, all money goes back into the site to create more fun stuff to offer the fans!
EDIT: We also would like to say congratulations and good luck to DeviantArt user Rufftoon. She announced yesterday that she had accepted a position as a storyboard artist at Avatar! This is amazing news! Wish her the best of luck. Also, there is another storyboard artist position available on Avatar. Click here for more!
Lots of business to attend to here today. First off, I'll formally announce the title I hinted at before. It is "The Painted Lady" and it is episode 303. C-Box user Angel guessed it correctly first!
Secondly, the DF Fan Awards have moved to the second round. The new categories are "Favorite Guest Star (2 or more episodes)" and "Favorite City". Please vote ASAP! I'll conclude voting early next week sometime. This past round saw you the fans crowning "The Cave of Two Lovers" as the top comedic episode, and Mike DiMartino the top director for his work on the season 2 finale. Thanks to all who voted, and please continue this week!
Tonight we have a nice little treat for you. Two new fan-created columns are up. Jaguarundi explores what's ahead for us in season 3 and karatewolfpunk thinks Zutara should be in the show, but you should check out her reasons because they're different and interesting! You should feel free to comment on each article with our new feature, and also there are two existing articles if you didn't know. You should check them out too if you haven't yet! Just follow the link above or see the link under the header!
Lastly, our friends at Wikipedia have a special announcement. The hard work of editors such as The Placebo Effect and Dylan0513 has made the Avatar article one of the site's best. So it will be in Wikipedia's "Featured Article of the Day". Problem is, they have to give the Wikipedia site editors a date to put the article up as the featured article, as there can be only one per day. They are mulling over two options at present: the date of the season 3 premiere (which is currently unknown) or the 2-year anniversary of Avatar's premiere (which will be much closer, on Feb. 21st). There is a convo going on over in the C-Box about this. They are asking for the help of the DF community, though. Please cast your vote (it's the second poll down under the "Avatar Poll of the Week" header on the right). You only have one vote, so cast it wisely! If you have a different date in mind, please let us know in the C-Box so we can take it into consideration. Thanks!
Ok, so I am proud to announce I have in my knowledge a new season 3 episode title spoiler! This time it is episode 3.3. Next time I will have 3.2, and then the season 3 premiere title will follow. Like we did with "The Crossroads of Destiny" (2.20) and "Sokka's Master" (3.4), we will play "Guess that Episode Title"!
This title is very interesting... I wouldn't be surprised if no one got it! Ok, I'll give you two initial hints, and you can guess away in the C-Box on the right. Hint #1: It's three words. Hint #2: The second word begins with a P and is past tense.
And I have decided to extend voting for the Fan Awards first poll through Monday. So if you haven't voted yet, please get to it!
Just wanted to jump on here quickly to alert you we do have some new features here on Dongbu Feng. There is now a "Comment" feature for each article. This goes for news, characters and episodes. If you want to comment on a news item, click the link at the top from the home page or News section page and scroll to the bottom. You have to leave your name and a valid email, though, but your email won't be displayed on the site or even seen by anyone other than myself, and I won't send out spam or anything dumb like that to you. All comments first must go through my approval, but that's just to make sure nothing bad is on a random comment somewhere and I don't find it in time. Please start commenting on the updates, charatcters and episodes!
There's also a new "Quote of the Moment" feature you may have been noticing on the left-hand side of your screen. It basically displays a random quote from an Avatar episode every time you refresh/go to another page on this site (just the site, not the forums or gallery). Right now I'm working on quotes from episode 1.7, but I thought I'd put it up anyway. Basically you can relive the great quotes of Avatar with every click!
Links are mostly updated. Still have quite a few character pages to fix up, but other than that they're all good to go!
Oh and don't forget - if you haven't casted your votes in this week's two categories (favorite comedic episode and favorite episode director) you can do on this page. Voting will end roughly around Saturday night.
In a move which have many Avatar fans up in arms, famous director M. Night Shyamalan ("Lady in the Water", "The Village", "Signs", "The Sixth Sense"), has inked a deal with Paramount Pictures (Nickelodeon Movies' parent) to bring three live-action movies to theaters.
So far there has been mixed reactions to this. Some say "No, this will RUIN THE SHOW!". Others think a live action movie will be VERY KICKASS. My opinion? I agree with the latter, that it will be an amazing movie.
This announcement just change down earlier this morning so there is no info on how the crew will be involved (if at all), who will be cast, or even if they will use the same characters and plots as in the show. What we do know is that Shyamalan will write, direct and produce the films. Usually known for scarier films, it has come as quite a surprise that Shyamalan was chosen fo make this big screen-adaptation of a Nickelodeon cartoon series, Avatar or not.
Still, there's no reason for us to think these movies will ruin the show. Give this a chance. We've all been begging for an Avatar movie to hit theaters, now we have it. Celebrate!
Oh and voting is still going on for the first round...
