Dylan along with Jake, Alisa, Josh, and Michelle first discuss the recent early release of the Sozin's Comet book in the news segment and then go way in-depth into "The Western Air Temple."...see more
Jake here, and the site maintainence last night went well and is complete. We've upgraded the main site to the latest version of Mambo, 4.5.3.
Also we have some exciting news this afternoon - there are many valid reports out there saying Nick is airing commercials for Avatar's July. Advertising 3 months in advance - even one commercial - is a very good sign. I'm gonna sit through a Spongebob marathon here and have my webcam and DVR ready, so I will upload and post the commercial after it airs, if it airs again. If you find a copy of the commercial which has not yet been deleted from Youtube, email me the link at
ASAP! Thanks.
Jake here, and it seems some confusion has aroused as to the airdate for Avatar. Nick.com's Avatar site has removed the July 14th date from their site.
Now what the heck is going on?? Is that really the date, or has Nick changed their mind? Or did Nick.com just take the info off their site because it wasn't supposed to be released at this time? What do you think - are they playing cat-and-mouse with us or what? Or is this just too much panicking and nothing more to this? We Report, You Decide. (Dylan says Dongbu Feng = Avatar.)
Jake here, and Acastus over at ASN has posted a high-quality version of the finale trailer shown at New York Comic Con last weekend. He has given me permission to host the trailer on DF and I've converted it to two other file types other than the original .mov file. I also have posted a number of decent-quality screenshots.
There is some audio issues with the WMV version at the end. The audio finishes up a good 3-4 seconds before the video. Not sure why this happened but I tried multiple conversion programs and each produced the same result. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Dylan here. "From the Spirit World" Podcasts will return weekly on Sunday. The schedule has been sporadic lately mainly because of my busy schedule. Sunday we will be discussing what was presented at NYCC. Also, as a warning of sorts, once 312-315 come out on DVD on May 6th, we will be discussing them on the podcasts. We will have one episode discussion per week in May after May 6th. Last, be on the lookout for possible live audio podcasts and live video podcasts from Dongbu Feng!
EDIT: Jake here, updating you on this situation. Dongbu Feng will be allowing discussions of episodes 312-315 after the Book 3, Volume 3 DVD is released on May 6th in "spoiler-only" sections. You are encouraged to buy it at DVDPacific.com for the lowest price, and they may even ship it out early. If you're waiting for the box set consider buying it and giving it to a friend or re-selling it. Please do not put the episodes up illegally anywhere or watch them anywhere illegally. If you're waiting to watch the episodes on TV, though, you won't have to worry about doing spoiled unless you venture into spoiler-risk areas!
Avatar will return with new episodes on July 14th. Check the link to the Avatar site on Nick.com above. Now the 14th is a Monday. How will they air the episodes? Nico blogged on this several weeks ago about how Nick could do a Nick-UK-type thing and air all the episodes in one week. They could air two episodes a day for three days, and on either Thursday, Friday or Saturday of that week air the 2-hour finale. They could also air two episodes a day Monday-Friday, airing the finale separately. Also Nick could air one episode a night for a week, two episodes one night and the finale on that Saturday. Maybe they'd air the finale a week after the rest of the episodes. Who knows, we can only speculate, but now we have an airdate!
Jake here, and ToonZone has posted their interview with co-creators Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. The interview contains some interesting some interesting tidbits about the making of Avatar, including the original ideas for Toph and Iroh!
