Jake here, and we have a bunch of spoilers and info from Comic Con. Proceed with caution! First off, the Book 3, Volume 3 DVD will be released on May 6th and all the episodes will not have aired in the US at that time. From Bryan himself, Avatar is returning in July! Also ToonZone is confirming Avatar will end in July. FULL TOON ZONE AVATAR PANEL REPORT Con Reactions Now to spoilers: 316 "The Southern Raiders," written by Elizabeth Ehasz, will be a tear-jerker about Katara and Sokka's mother and her death. Sukka is looking to happen, as Suki escapes with the "Day of Black Sun" prisoners in "The Boiling Rock." There was no Iroh in the finale trailer. 317 is indeed about a theater play. Nothing will be revealed about Iroh's trip to the spirit world. Aang kisses Katara again, and Katara backed out of it. In a clip, Katara ran to Zuko. The comet will apparently crash down on the earth. Azula, Ty Lee and Mai will return soon. In response to Ursa, M+B said, "Just wait and see." Jun the bounty hunter from "Bato of the Water Tribe" returns! Koh is scene again (this has already been confirmed by me, though. :D). The play in 317 recaps the gAang and includes "players" who portray King Bumi and the pirates, but the actual characters don't return to our knowledge. Zuko and Katara hug. We will see Ozai being crowned the Phoenix Lord, in which the sky will be red. AND Avatar Portal reported that Mike and Bryan are still keeping the possibility of a spin-off series open, including one based on Iroh. As you might have already guessed, there is no live stream today. Mike and Bryan asked Collin not to record, and it seems like Alisa followed suit. Sorry guys. We'll try to get a recap from someone who was there, and Collin or someone else may be recording parts of the panel for video release later, so stay tuned! |

Jake here, with a quick recap of the events from New York Comic Con today. No major news coming out of the fan-panel. They showed a lot of fan-comics, did a little "skit" with Wang Fire (where two fans got to voice the characters, don't remember the second off-hand), showed some fan-made videos and did a cosplay contest. The cosplayer who did Appa won first place of a spectator-enthusiasm vote. Sokka got second place. Like I said not too much comes from this panel - but it was pretty fun. Make sure to check out the panel tomorrow with Mike and Bryan at 3 pm EDT! We'll be streaming that as well. The video for this panel should be available tonight or tomorrow. We'll let you know when and how exactly you can catch it again! UPDATE: Apparently SOTS from AP only asked a Con worker about when Avatar will return. So this is not any info from Nick and should be taken with a grain of salt. UPDATE #2: This flier was handed out at the panel: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v433/raleigh14/IMG_0602.jpg . |

The trailer is in another language though. :( Thanks to hiro in Chat for the heads up! -Edit by Dylan- Here's a link to the trailer in English: http://tinyurl.com/3cmfdy. Thanks SOTS for the link! UPDATE: Here is a translation of the commercial, from TV.com: "There's only one way to fight the Fire Nation, you need to get to what is inside you. Join us into a trip that
no one is going to forget. Avatar Book 3 Fire! From Monday to Thursday at 6pm. Only on Nick!." |

Jake here, and it seems like this week just can't go one day without some form of Avatar news! Blockbuster producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will join M. Night Shyamalan, Sam Mercer and Scott Aversano as producers for the 2010 film. So who are these people? Let me throw some movie titles at you. "Signs." "The Sixth Sense." "Jurassic Park." "Indiana Jones." Kennedy and Marshall served as producers on all these films, and if that doesn't get you excited about the movie, I don't know what will! Also, mnightfans.com is reporting Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko have joined the movie as Executive Producers. All around exciting news about the movie(s) - and it's all leading up to two awesome Comic Con panels this weekend! Thanks to Meredith in chat for the heads up! Reminder: Avatar Portal and DF are teaming up to live stream the two panels at New York Comic Con! Be sure to be right here on the DF home page tomorrow at 6 pm EDT (or approximately 24 hours and 35 minutes after the date of this post) and on Saturday at 3 pm EDT for live streams of both panels! We're sure to hear an airdate at at least one of the panels, and also we'll be getting a trailer for the finale at the Saturday panel! If you miss the live streaming, don't worry! We'll let you know how to view the whole video afterwards! |
